A monthly update: Recap on February’s fundraising activities!

We can’t believe we are now in March, what a busy month we have had, with not one but two major events for the Friends of the Children Foundation! Through the generous support of our local community, volunteers, committee members, family, friends and work colleagues we have been able to raise $12,000 to the Monash Children’s Hospital.

Thank you to the 200 walkers who attended our inaugural walk for Monash Children’s at Jells Park. Staff from Monash Children’s, the Monash Health Foundation and Friends of the Children Foundation, joined supporters and members of the community in raising money for the purchase of a special vest  to help treat young patients with Cystic Fibrosis. Over $4000 was raised. The vest plays an important role in patients being able to spend less time in hospital, meaning more time at home with family and friends and a higher quality of life. The 2014 walk for Monash Children’s will be held on Sunday 23 February!

Walk for Monash Children a big success!

Friends of the Children Foundation also held a fundraising dinner to launch the walk,  over two hundred guests enjoyed a three-course meal and were entertained ‘Bollywood’ style by young dancers who later inspired the many guests to pack the dance floor. In total $8,000 was raised for the Monash Children’s Hospital. The 2014 fundraising dinner will be held on Saturday 15 February!

If you would like to be involved in March’s fundraising activities, we have the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal Walk – now in it’s 15th year, the walk is a major fundraising activity for the Royal Children’s Hospital. Let’s see if we can do better than last year’s $55,000 fundraising amount!
