During our “Gala Dinner of 21st September 2019” Friends of the Children Foundation committed to purchase two “Smilyscope” for the New Emergency Department of Monash Children Hospital.
Smileyscope was developed by Melbourne doctors combining therapeutic distraction, relaxation and cognitive-behavioural therapies.
It takes patients on an underwater adventure that allows them to virtually escape the hospital room. They are immersed in an interactive 3D world.
This patented approach is led by Pogles the Penguin who explains what is happening each step of the way.
Smileyscope relaxes patients, allowing them to reimagine needles being fish gently nibbling at their arm to say hello.
On growing demand and Need of these “Smileyscope” in the Children Emergency Department, During our 8th Monash Children Walk of 1st March 2020, we aim to raise more funds to purchase Two more Smilyscopes.
